My mother was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago. As a result of her placement in an institution and the progression of her condition, I realized that the morning task of dressing her up was becoming more and more difficult, both for her and for the beneficiaries. It was then that I understood the need for suitable clothing for people in these conditions.
Thus, I wanted to contribute to the well-being of people living with conditions similar to my mother. Moreover, it was also my way of contributing to society.
As a result of my research and after having questioned my entourage and people with these needs, I became aware that there was a need in the region for resources and people with expertise in this type of clothing.
From a very young age, I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur and own my own business. Adapted clothing Jonick is the fruit of this ambition. Moreover, the name Jonick is also very dear to me, because it represents a combination of the names of my two children Joel and Anick who help me with several aspects of its operation. As you can see, I am very proud of my company because it contributes to the well-being of people with special needs and their families.
What is adapted clothing? This question often comes up when we talk to people. It is a garment (dresses, vests, shirts, polo shirts, etc.) with openings on the front, the back or the side that makes the clothing process easy, without causing pain thanks to the snap buttons on both shoulders or at the level of the hips.
This type of clothing is ideal for people with short- or long-term mobility disabilities, in palliative care or people with disabilities.
Jonick offers adapted clothing that looks like regular clothing. When people with disabilities or reduced mobility wear our clothes, we can barely distinguish that they are clothes with features that make dressing easier. The fabrics used to make our clothes are resistant to washing even when subjected to industrial laundry equipment.
